Surprise, surprise....  not really.  Cajun Boy failed to appear at his arraignment.  He now has a fugitive warrant IN ADDITION to theft and home improvement warrants in St. Mary.  

Now where oh were can he be?

The audio was the radio ads we heard on 106.3, advertising as local, licensed, and insured!

Anyone else find it ironic that the FAKE business owner has claimed the FB page that outed him as being fake?

Kyle Landry

Kyle Landry and Kyle Landry's Construction have both mysteriously disappeared from FB today. Kyle was one of Cajun Boy's buddies, and would post on the business FB pages from time to time.  A few of the victims had dealings with him, but we never saw him.  My guess is most likely he's involved in some way.  Why else would he be trying to cover his tracks?

All has been quiet the past few days.

I've had two sources say that Cajun Boy was in jail.... but I can't find any info to back that up.  So I'll go ahead and say that likely isn't true.  Just a rumor.

Another source said they knew where he's hiding out. We'll see if that pans out.

WWL contacted me and said their newsroom was interested in information regarding this whole situation.  I haven't heard back from them.  Or Fox 8.

KLFY channel 10 did a segment on him last night also. I spoke with Doug MacDiarmid on the phone, but he had found someone to interview that was closer. It was victim whose roof had caved in and Shane never went back.  She also has a FB page - Cajun Construction is a fraud.  I actually have nothing to show the media because Shane never did a thing!! I guess that in a way is a blessing because he could have done a lot of damage to the home.

One of Shane's family members contacted me via FB and said he wanted to clear their name and state they are NOT helping him.  And that is MOM is not helping him and the part about her mortgaging the house to bail him out last time isn't true.  Hmm.

Busted is saying on FB Cajun Boy should be the most wanted man in Acadiana.... what do y'all think?   Is he?

Cajun Boy had agreed to refund our money and hand over some of the materials..... today.  Some how I don't think that is going to happen.  Not that we ever believed him in the first place....  

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  To everyone who has shared on FB, commented, emailed, called, offered to help...   I appreciate all of them!!   Mission #1 accomplished - call attention to this scam of a man!!!   My meme went from a small Tri-City Alert group, to being shared on Busted in Acadiana, and managed to catch KATC's attention.

We're not done, so keep on sharing.  Keep posting.  Do not let this go.  If you spot Cajun Boy CALL THE COPS.  If they do not come, call again.... and again... and again.

So far, from the contacts I have made, he has stolen over $25,000.  No doubt there are more.  We can only hope that he is picked up soon.

Thanks to Busted in Acadiana for sharing our story!!  And everyone else who is keeping on sharing.  I guess you could say it has gone viral??  Last night it was being shared from the main page at least two times a minute.  And of course, shared and shared on top of that!!

Cajun Boy seems to have made himself scarce on Facebook.  Both of Shane Romero's FB pages are gone, along with  Cajung Construction, LLC's page.  Cajun Trailers is still alive..... for now.

Strangest of stranger....

Since posting this blog and my meme going viral on Facebook, things have gotten a little more interesting.

First of all, Cajun Construction's FB page has vanished.  Deleted.  Deactivated... or whatever as of yesterday, 4/07/13.  I just can't imagine why.  So, to help Cajun Boy out a bit, I decided to make him a NEW one!!

Also, Shane has changed his employment on FB.  I just can't imagine why he did that either.

I've lost count of the numerous FB messages and emails we have received with stories about this creep.   

The mystery of how his name changed has been solved.  He was born Shane Romero, but his step-father adopted him so his legal name is Leblanc.  Everyone knew him by Romero, so it stayed.  

His poor mother had to take out a mortgage on her home to keep him out of jail.  

Possibly the most entertaining tidbit has been this:

THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, Joshua Broussard is his name, so he claims. 25 is his age (hahaha maybe in dog years). His wife died of cancer last year (so he claims). He claims he lives in New York, but reality he lives in a hick town in lousiana. You tell him to stop texting you, so two weeks later he pretends to be another man and starts texting you again ( same number though – how dumb). Women of new orleans? do you know anything about this awful liar of a person, please let everyone know who he really is. Put a end to his games before someone actually gets hurt by him

This is a follow up from Missing identity. Okay so i decided to google the number that “joshua broussard” had been texting me from. It lead me to a yahoo add advertising a business. Which had a email account for a Shane Romero for clients to contact. I searched for him on facebook and found him , couldnt see much information but he had linked to his profile a facebook business page for his business which the banners for, have “joshua broussards” number all over it. I texted the number – saying hey Shane Romero how are you going? and i swear not even 5 minutes later, Shane Romeros facebook was deactivated. So mystery solved, this is the man who has been fooling all the ladies, this ugly cajun dude with a soul patch. No wonder he pretends to be some rich muscle steroid dude to pick up ladies online. No surprise why he doesnt show up and im guessing its not because his phone isnt working haha I guess reality is just to much for him and he would rather live in fantasy land, with his new york apartment, P.I business. Boys weekends in flordia. and private jet ….and u wonder why i called u out as a liar the first time we spoke…if you’re gonna lie at least make it believeable. BUSTED

Apparently Cajun Boy has aspirations to be some sort of casonova.

I guess he knows with his pathetic life he will never be any of that, so at least he can pretend and live in a fantasy world.

Cajun Trailers is the SAME PERSON!


Unfortunately, we hired Cajun Construction for a renovations project in an empty house.  Their ad was in daily rotation on a local radio station and things looked legit on their Facebook page.  It has been a nightmare.  "Shane Romero" was professional and pleasant, even meeting with us on a Sunday.  He said they would start that week - prep work for the floor and such.  It sure sounded good, so we bought it hook, line, and sinker.  We signed the contract put down a 30% deposit on February 17.  The deposit was supposedly applied to the flooring cost.

He parked a trailer in the yard and nothing happened.  He spent one day at the house (doing what I don't know) and never returned.

When questioned, he claimed illness had delayed him.  Shane showed up that week with invoices for electrical and carpentry materials stating they were starting tomorrow, doing this that week, and they'd work on the weekend, etc.... and it would all be finished in about 2 weeks, depending on how long it took the grout to dry on the floor.  Then he came back with an invoice for the garage door replacement, which that was going to get started in 3 days.  Total paid out for materials including the deposit was $6400.

And he vanished.  We never saw him again.

Literally all they at the house did was pop off a section of baseboard and did about $100 of electrical work....  and HAVE NOT RETURNED IN SIX WEEKS!!!!!  None of the materials we paid for have been delivered.  There are no tools or supplies onsite. Our inquiries are ignored.  We made many calls, voice mails, texts, emails....  all ignored.  We even asked if he would deliver the materials that we paid for and we'd find someone else to do the work -  no response.  When we do hear from him, it is always the electrician is going 'tomorrow' or the floor will start 'next week' or this weekend.

The most recent communication via email:

Having trouble with the local electrician I hired. If I can't find one by Monday, Tuesday ill have my from Lafayette go back out there. Next week you will see things get done Mr. XXX. Once electrician is done, I'm going to knock out the carpentry work then jump on the floor and other stuff. Once I'm done, I'm going to make you a really good deal at your personal house. Sorry for the inconvience. See you next week with some production!!

No one ever showed up that week. Nothing in the house has been touched. No one has even entered the house in over a month.  Here it is....  April 2.  Remember we hired him on Feb. 17 and they were starting "the next day."  Absolutely nothing has been done.

Shane doesn't return calls, answer texts, or emails. He is impossible to reach.  His crews are no shows with no explanation.  I resorted to posting numerous FB messages on their wall.  Nothing rude, just asking for a status update because it had been weeks and nothing had been started. Almost immediately, my posts were deleted and I was blocked from the company's page.  Really - who blocks a paying client from their page for asking for a status update?? When I asked about being blocked, he denied it and blamed FB.  Well.... I was smart enough to take SCREEN SHOTS of my posts before they were deleted.  It has been nothing but SIX weeks of the run around and we have paid out over $6,000 for "materials" and have nothing to show for it.  He has vanished with our money.  He ignores our request to deliver the materials. We get no response when we ask for answers.  We have already consulted with a lawyer and police/sheriff's department to discuss our options.  Tick tock....   I'll update as more details unfold.


After doing some digging, we learned were not his first "victims."

And actually...  Shane "Romero" just isn't that at all....   his real name is Shane Michael Leblanc.  Mr. Leblanc has an arrest record for guess what?  Home improvement fraud.

Now just why would someone operate a legitimate business under a false name?  Perhaps there's a reason. 

Who knows...  

I also learned that Shane Michael Leblanc has two outstanding warrants for his arrest for home improvement fraud in Lafayette.

**UPDATE**
I have found yet another victim.  Same story -  $5000 and the work was not completed.  That makes 4 of us.... 



And also, the trailer that was parked in my yard??  STOLEN!!!  No kidding. It has been returned to the owner, so at least something good has come of all this.
